About No Limits

WHY A CAREER DAY?

Success is not for the timid. You have to be bold.
You also have to know where you’re going and how to get there. That means having a plan. And a good plan requires having the right information. That’s what The Urban Network’s No Limits Career Day is all about.

We created the No Limits Career Day because we’ve been exactly where you are today—facing an overwhelming number of decisions about your future such as what college to choose, major to declare and classes to take, and so on.

The way we see it, our job at the No Limits Career Day is to help you figure out your next move and to help insure that you’re well-equipped to compete at whatever you decide to do. You’ll have a chance to hear Urban Network professionals—lawyers, investment bankers, engineers, etc.—talk frankly (no sugar-coating) about what it takes to succeed. What makes No Limits a one-of-a-kind event is that we come from the same neighborhoods and have faced many of the same challenges you now confront.

Why a career day? Simple. It’s our firm belief that with the proper nurturing and guidance there are no limits to what you can achieve.

WHAT IS NO LIMITS CAREER DAY?

At the No Limits Career Day, nearly 50 African-American executives and entrepreneurs -- lawyers, accountants, engineers, bankers, marketers, architects, etc. - gather to share their experiences, insights and advice with more than 100 inner city youths.

Students receive practical, real world advice about career paths and academic options through a full-day of activities such as:

  • Workshops
  • Interactive games
  • Keynote speakers
  • Informational sessions

The event is free to all who attend and includes breakfast and lunch.

No Limits is made possible through the donations of Urban Network members in partnership with corporate sponsors.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

All students, ages 14-18 are welcome to attend No Limits. Parents are also strongly encouraged to participate in the day.
